Welcome to MADRAS ,  We are a small angling club that started life when members of  maggotdrowning.com got together with the aim of creating an internet based angling club.

We have two stretches of the River Penk on the outskirts of Stafford.  The Penk is a tributary of the River Sow, which then joins the River Trent.

The fishing is of the small stream type with Chub as the mainstay. The Chub run to over 5lb in weight.  Additionally there are Perch to over 2lb. Barbel are present but in very small numbers. There is also some Bream and Pike. The Penk in summer flows almost crystal clear making stalking the Chub the best method.
